Mosaic Tiles

Mosaic Tiles are a very special type of tile and are commonly an intricate decorative work created by arranging tiles that are smaller than 2x2. These tiny tiles are commonly made up of materials such as stone, glass, metal, porcelain, marble, travertine and more to create eye catching designs.

Mosaic tiles are commonly also put together by hand, which makes us appreciate the design and pieces of tile art even more.

Mosaic tiles, like feature tiles and decorative tiles are used to capture one's attention, compliment a room and add a timeless touch to any space, they are the perfect designers tool to complete a room.

Most mosaic tiles are suitable as both floor tiles and wall tiles and most commonly seen as kitchen splashbacks, feature strips or walls in bathrooms and to complete a pool.

Mosaic tiles are available in a range of styles, colours, patterns and shapes including basket weave, herringbone, penny rounds, brick, fish scale, arabesque lanterns, hexagons and much more. The creative design work available through mosaic tiles is limitless.

Visit the Nerang Tiles Gold Coast Tile Showroom today to see the full range of intricate feature mosaic tiles on offer to complete your space.

While the trend is always to go larger to reduce grout joints and maintenance by using large format porcelain tiles, mosaics can provide a degree of flexibility and uniqueness that is difficult to match.

The mosaic tile is an ancient materials that has been used for thousands of years and can still be seen fixed to our global treasures such as large catholic churches, ancient roman buildings and much more.

We are currently spoiled for choice with mosaic tiles with varieties such as glass mosaics, metal mosaics, stone mosaics, ceramic mosaics and porcelain mosaics for choice to compliment porcelain floor tiles or wall tiles or to use as a feature on its own. It is also not uncommon to find mosaic tiles that combine these elements, steel and natural stone mosaics are a popular combination.

Mosaics tiles are often imagined to be tiny squares of glass generally applied to pools, however rectangle, large format and pebble mosaics are also very popular. However while mosaic tiles are typically associated with exclusive use for pools and water features, these tiles are well suited for much broader uses in all residential and commercial application than any other products. The mosaic tile tessarae are sheeted to provide a sinour material that can flow over twisting, curved, snaking surfaces that would be practically impossible to tile using conventional products.

The most common and suited application for mosaic tiles is in wet areas such as the traditional Australian backyard pool. By nature, swimming pools are generally curved in areas which are more easily tiled using mosaic tiles. Mosaics can also be mixed and custom designed to display a rainbow of designed colours to suit the design you wish to achieve with your pool. The flexibility of mosaics also allows skilled tilers to lay mosaics in different designs to achieve real world figures such as dolphins, stars and others to be prominently positioned in and around the pool. This can also be done digitally by designers. Mosaic manufacturers can pre design the artwork of your mosaic tiles and any ordinary digital photograph can be printed on a glass mosaic to create a totally unique design.

The uniqueness and stretch of design opportunities for mosaics also allows the most spectacular and often glittery glass mosaic tiles to be created. Mosaics tiles have become a common sign used to strike effect as features in small spaces, alcoves and niches in our residential spaces. In kitchens, mosaic tiles provide an ideal hard surface finish for the wall space between cabinets.

It is unquestionable that a few square meters of mosaic tiles can present a striking, practical and elegant finish in a space that is often the focal point of any home.

Every year, millions of square meters of mosaic tiles of great variety are imported into Australia and Nerang Tiles has a huge range to select from. From steel mosaics, marble mosaics, ceramic mosaics, porcelain mosaics, glass mosaics and even timber mosaics, the Nerang Tiles Gold Coast Tile Showroom has thousands to choose from. You are certain to find the perfect mosaic tile type to fulfill your design aspirations for any space.

Mosaic tiles are suitable as ktichen tiles, bathroom tiles, pool tiles (check for submerge application), outdoor tiles, feature tiles and more.
